Volkova T.D. works in Shemyakin-Ovchinnikov Institute of Boorganic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, since 1983 after graduating from the Moscow institute of fine chemical technology, at first in the laboratory of peptide chemistry, then in the laboratory of synthetic vaccines. In 2000 the degree of Ph.D. was conferred for the work “Identification of immunoactive regions of strain Sofjin tick-born encephalitis E protein with synthetic peptides”. Volkova T.D. takes direct part in the researches devoted to studying the antiviral, antibacterial and antipeptide immune response; mimicking the antiviral and antibacterial immune response by synthetic peptides; creation of means for immunodiagnostics of tumor and immunotherapy of neurodegenerative diseases with synthetic immunoactive fragments of endogenous proteins (nucleophosmin, survivin, prion and alpha-7 subunit of acetylcholine receptor). Volkova T.D. has published over 20 original contributions in refereeing journals.
